According to the METRO,Arsenal are set to snatch the Bayern
Munich hit maker Mario Mandzukic.
The Gunners have been linked with a move for Croatian hitman Mandzukic, with Arsene Wenger short on options up front.
But the deal appeared dead a fortnight ago when Bayern stressed that the 27-year-old would not be allowed to leave.
However, in a dramatic U-turn, honorary president Franz Beckenbauer says Mandzukic could now depart before the close of the transfer window.
‘Mandzukic could pack his bags,’ said Beckenbauer.
‘I don’t think Mandzukic suits Pep Guardiola’s style.
‘Also – even without him, Guardiola could still count on Thomas Muller and Mario Gotze in attack.’
Arsenal would only be interested in signing Mandzukic on-loan, and having followed him since his days at Dinamo Zagreb, Wenger knows all about his abilities.
Chelsea and Tottenham have also been rumoured to be keen on the striker in recent months.
