Gazeti hilo hivi karibuni liliandika habari zinazodaikuwa kwa nayakati tofauti rais Kikwete amekuwa na mazungumzo jijini Dar Es Salaam na waanzilishi wa chama cha National Congress NRC, Dr Theogene Rudasingwa kamanda wa kundi la Democratic Forces of Liberation of Rwanda FDLR, luteni Kanali Wilson Irategeka, Kanali Hamadi pamoja na aliyekuwa waziri mkuu wa Rwanda Faustin Twagiramungu.

Kufuatia habari hiyo, Serikali ya Tanzania imemuandikia barua mhariri wa gazeti la News of Rwanda kumtaka aombe radhi pamoja na kuacha kuandika habari za uvumi ambazo kwa sehemu kubwa zimemuhusu rais wa Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania, Dr, Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete.

Taarifa hiyo ambayo nakala yake rfikiswahili inayo, imekanusha kuwa mkutano kati ya rais Kikwete na viongozi hao ulifanyika tarehe 23 ya mwezi huu na kwamba tarehe hiyo rais Kikwete alikuwa safarini mjini Davos, Uswis kuhudhuria mkutano wa kiuchumi.

Wizara ya mambo ya ndani ya Tanzania pia imekanusha kutoa pasi za kusafiria wala kuishi nchini humo kwa viongozi waliotajwa kuwa na mazungumzo na rais Kikwete.

Tangazo la Serikali ya Tanzania kukanusha taarifa hizi linakuja huku kukiwa imepita miezi kadhaa toka kuwepo kwa taarifa kuwa nchi hizo mbili zimekuwa kwenye mvutano kwa madai kuwa Tanzania inawasaidia waasi wanaompinga rais Paul Kagame.

Juan Mata has wasted no time in settling in at Manchester United after the Spanish star was spotted house hunting on Wednesday afternoon.

Just 24 hours after making his debut in the 2-0 win against Cardiff City, United's club-record £37.1million signing spent his day off pounding the streets of Cheshire with his girlfriend looking for a new pad.

And the good news for United is that Mata is acutely aware there is still much more to come from him.

'To be honest I didn't train that much last week because of the transfer," he said. "I know I can improve.'

And his efforts will only be enhanced by the return to fitness of Robin van Persie, who had missed 11 games with a thigh problem, and Wayne Rooney, who played only once in 2014 before succumbing to a groin injury.

'Rooney and Robin are two of the best strikers in the world,' said Mata.

'It will be amazing to play alongside them.

Munich hit maker Mario Mandzukic.

The Gunners have been linked with a move for Croatian hitman Mandzukic, with Arsene Wenger short on options up front.

But the deal appeared dead a fortnight ago when Bayern stressed that the 27-year-old would not be allowed to leave.

The Premier League years have thrown up some remarkable specimens. Some fine players, too.

Indulge me for a moment: there has been David Beckham, David Ginola, Thierry Henry, Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo, Didier Drogba and, on the touchline, Jose Mourinho.

You're not really supposed to adore players from the press box, but I always relished reporting on Eric Cantona.

Of course, I know players can't go around impersonating Bruce Lee (even if a moronic supporter abuses your mum), but... it was Eric. It felt like a football career in the life of a film star. There was something inevitable about his chaos.

I also remember one night at Brammall Lane, Sheffield, when Cantona was majestic and scored this chip.

I wrote something like: 'It was another wonderful night in the company of Eric Cantona'.

It was a privilege to watch him at his best. He wasn't quick, but he was quick upstairs and his balance and protection of the ball made it difficult for defenders to get close.

He made good players better, he made Manchester United tick. Collar up, chest out: a swaggering mixture of volatile fury and cunning skill. Sometimes, he would look as if he didn't care and then he would turn the match. He needed Manchester United (Sheffield Wednesday once asked him to take place in a trial!) and Manchester United needed him. He was the original Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Every so often a footballer comes along who is different. A player who stands out for his originality. And I saw another of those players at Upton Park on Tuesday.

Manchester City's Alvaro Negredo was magnificent. OK, I know it was against West Ham's hopeless defence, but it was the second time I have seen 'La fiera de Vallecas' ('The Beast' to you and I) in the flesh. On both occasions West Ham have had no idea how to handle him.

Yes, he can play as a target man, but his movement, work rate, touch, reading of the game, link play and threat coming in from wide is exceptional.

Luis Suarez of Liverpool and Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey have been the stand-out individuals of this thrilling season so far, but Negredo is another to stand on the podium.

Jamie Redknapp has already written his view on the ‘caveman who plays like an artist’ and now I have seen for myself what he means.

Negredo is not the same as Cantona, of course. He plays with Cantona's power but he has more pace. There doesn't seem to be a dark side - and scores more goals.

He now has 23 in 33 games for City – surely a team destined to win the Barclays Premier League title this season. And he is a box office footballer too – strong, powerful, direct. And that's before we even mention the stylish, handsome beard (they are all the rage these days, apparently...)

Back to the football and City arrived at West Ham leading 6-0 from the first leg, played their first-choice strikers and took the aggregate victory to 9-0. Negredo scored twice. Their attitude was professional and determined.

The talk from their camp before the game was about them maintaining their momentum and scoring more goals. Negredo scored in the third minute and the momentum was maintained.

Sergio Aguero might be more skilful, he might have more pace, he might be more eye-catching but Negredo is something else.

A study found for the first time the high content of flavonoids found in berry fruits may regulate blood glucose levels, and stave off type 2 diabetes.

Flavonoids are antioxidant compounds found in plants, as well as tea, red wine and chocolate, which can protect against a wide range of diseases, including heart disease, hypertension, some cancers and dementia.

The findings, published in the Journal of Nutrition, say that the compounds found in herbs, berries and red wine may all protect against diabetes.

That's because they are linked to lower insulin resistance and better control of blood sugar.

According to the Dailymail, Researchers from the University of East Anglia (UEA) and King's College London reveal that high intakes are linked with lower insulin resistance and better blood glucose regulation.

They also lowered inflammation which, when chronic, can lead to disease, says the study published today in the Journal of Nutrition.

Prof Aedin Cassidy from UEA's Norwich Medical School, who led the research, said 'We focused on flavones, which are found in herbs and vegetables such as parsley, thyme, and celery, and anthocyanins, found in berries, red grapes, wine and other red or blue-coloured fruits and vegetables.

'This is one of the first large-scale human studies to look at how these powerful bioactive compounds might reduce the risk of diabetes.

'Laboratory studies have shown these types of foods might modulate blood glucose regulation - affecting the risk of type 2 diabetes.

Professor Tim Spector, director of the TwinsUK study at King's College London, who took part in the research, said: "This is an exciting finding that shows that some components of foods that we consider unhealthy like chocolate or wine may contain some beneficial substances.

"If we can start to identify and separate these substances we can potentially improve healthy eating.

"There are many reasons including genetics why people prefer certain foods so we should be cautious until we test them properly in randomised trials and in people developing early diabetes."
